Local information
China Family: The Guide helps foreign families in Shanghai form a small current shortlist, compare like-for-like information, and prepare questions to verify directly. It does not guarantee provider identity, quality, safety, licensing, eligibility, availability, service area, language access, or current terms.
Privacy Policy

China Family: The Guide does not require an account and does not use analytics, advertising, tracking, contacts, or location permission. It does not automatically upload household work to the developer. Sharing and backup export happen only when you choose them.
Data on your device
The app stores broad family-need and fit choices, saved profile references, filters and appearance, validated guide data and recovery copies, and saved access records on your device. Decision workspaces also retain shortlists, questions, household checks, private answers and visit notes or dates, and the publisher context captured with that work. Fit choices help order an on-device verification queue; they are not a child identity profile.
Derived content snapshots
To show current Shanghai family guidance, the app may download a bounded, signed, derived snapshot. It contains only compact published profiles with fit, eligibility, language, service area, recency, source class, cautions, unknowns, and verification questions needed by the app.
The guide may include approved, optimized profile images. Guide updates and image hashes are validated before use. Raw research posts, comments, handles, screenshots, source-account credentials, and private creator information are not distributed as app content. Permissioned operator research remains separate from customer data and is not joined to app use.
Map search and outside services
A map search happens only when you choose it and sends a published label plus Shanghai to the selected map service. Confirm identity, current location or service area, language, eligibility, availability, and terms directly. Maps, providers, browsers, and other services have their own privacy practices.
Sharing and backup export
Portable comparisons omit private answers and visits unless you turn on their inclusion. Review the complete text before sharing. Complete private backups include all local answers, visit notes, household checks, and retained publisher context. Export is a separate explicit action; you choose the file destination. Keep exported private files secure.
Deletion
In Access & settings, clearing the cached snapshot keeps saved references and fit choices. Delete all local data removes decision work and its recovery copies, saved references, fit choices, saved access records, and downloaded snapshots. Delete decision work in the workspace removes that work and its recovery copies while keeping the free guide and saved guide references. If deletion fails, the app reports that it did not fully complete. These actions do not upload your data.
Purchases
The optional Decision pack is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit under Apple’s terms. The developer does not receive your payment-card details. New paid work requires verified access; retained work remains readable, exportable, deletable, and restorable from a valid complete backup without current paid access.
Support email
If you choose to email support, I receive your email address and the information you include so I can respond and troubleshoot. Include only what you want to send; private plans, household records, and exports are not attached automatically.
